Why do we need jobs?

At least that's what the governor thinks as expressed by her budget proposal.

Gov. Jan Brewer's proposed cuts to health care would drain an estimated $2.7 billion in state and federal funding from Arizona's economy and result in the loss of 42,000 jobs, according to an analysis by economists at Arizona State University.
...

http://www.azcentral.com/arizo...
Please call her office <602.542.4331> and let her know what you think.

Tax Cuts Impact

Hi,
As I recall, the legislature has passed some sort of tax cut nearly every year for the last few. I would like to see some assessment on how the tax cuts of the past few years have impacted the budget today.
Does anyone have that information?
Thanks, Gaardvark

I would suggest calling the Arizona Republic and asking them why they are not writing about DiCiccio's financial interests in the 202 extension. Call Elvia Diaz, Assistant Community Editor Phoenix, at (602)444-8948
It can't hurt to write some letters to the editor as well.
Check out this website for more info.

Has the Kennedy camp organized a letter writing campaign to the Republic? Has anybody seen any letters published regarding this issue?

Franks has some stiff competition in the modern GOP, but he is clearly in the running for King of the Kooks. Here in Arizona our legislature may eliminate our local version of SCHIP, KidsCare, in order to balance the state budget. They've taken a pledge to Grover Norquist to never ever raise taxes under any circumstances and would rather balance the state budget on the backs of children than break that pledge.

I see that abstinence is on the Home Page of the AZ Right to Life website.

Apparently Mr. Jensen wasn't practicing abstinence at Desert Divas, unless he was simply showing them how to use condoms. But in the event that he was braving the elements without a "raincoat," I wonder if he would willingly become the baby-dad, or would he drive the mother-to-be to the abortion clinic himself (in disguise of course).

Not that I ever expected politicians to be fully truthful, but this ability to project one's sins upon the opponent and campaign upon the allegation is astounding. This goes beyond hypocrisy. This takes balls.

about 20 years ago. It was nice telling people back there that AZ was not as bad off as CA, not for long.
Will the Rs ever learn that their economic ideas accomplish nothing and destroy everything?!
I think we should sue them for violating the State Constitution.

... the "tough" turn wierd

What really makes my jaw drop is that in the middle of the worst budget crisis in Arizona history, the top priority for the republitards was forcing guns into bars, workplaces and private property against the wishes of the property owner, abolishing speed cameras, and rewriting the law retroactively to let a gun nut get away with killing a hiker. I suppose next on their plate is making it legal to shoot and kill speed camera operators.
