There are at least two candidates running

in CD6, and Richard Grayson has stepped aside (he never really wanted to run, but was frustrated with the lack of a viable Democratic candidate.)

Those candidates are Chris Gramazio (http://www.chrisgramazio.com/A%20New%20Voice.htm) and Rebecca Schneider (http://rebeccaschneiderforcongress.com/).

I don't know how they are doing with sigs and other such mundane details, but both are active Democrats and either one will offer a fine alternative to Jeff "I hate everything that doesn't directly aid some corporation's bottom line" Flake.

Whoever wrote that Richard "will represent minorities better as a person of color" on AZLeft should think twice about what they write. I find it hard to respect someone who is going to bring the color of someone's skin into a campaign. Also, I think Sheriff Joe is a good speller, so should I vote for him?

Wonder that AZ Netroots feel about a candidate who actively avoids dem meetings and takes most of the money from lawyers... very similar to Candy Thomas right? 80% of those lawyers are now getting the 11 million out of council support. We need NEW ways of winning. not a mini-thomas who gets most of his $$$ from lawyers. who he then is indebted to.

I contacted Richard's campaign and they confirmed that Saban has not formally endorsed Gerald Richard. The person I spoke with from the Richard campaign does not believe that Saban can legally endorse anyone until he resigns from his position of Buckeye Chief of Police.

Just spoke with Dan, your facts are way wrong. He spoke at Richard's opening because they have a long friendship but he explicitly said it was not a formal endorsement and that he has high regard for Tim Nelson. Zelph, please correct this.

I think the voters should be able to vote judges OUT of office.

But I think letting them run for office and getting them involved in politics is a mistake.

Andrew Thomas has taken expenditure of taxpayer funds to a new end, spending lavishly on big glossy brochures with his picture all over them. Not living in Maricopa county I've been spared the worst of it, but why are not more people outraged that in the middle of the worst recession this state has seen in decades, all he can think of to spend money on is his own picture?

It's also interesting to see the diff between Rs and Ds, when Ds are happy to get a gazillion $50 donations and Rs seek out donations 1400 times that amount.
